Surrounded by Agriculture, Wind Energy and Fresh Air, Tehachapi is often referred to as a hidden gem for a healthy getaway. Stroll the quaint Downtown area among the many murals to visit the Historic Railroad Depot, Museum, Shops and Galleries.
A short drive west will reveal local Wineries, Ostrich and Alpaca ranches that are open to the public and a terrific Golf Course in Stallion Springs. Towards the south, visitors can experience soaring by taking a Sail Plane ride or seeing the view from a Hot Air Balloon. Several hiking trails, equestrian facilities and the largest Action Sports Facility in the west keep the visitors that want to keep moving, doing just that.
Experience American ingenuity by taking a short scenic drive to the world famous Tehachapi Loop to watch the trains wind up the grade. Built in 1876, this engineering marvel is the only place in the world where the Locomotive passes it’s own caboose.

For foodies, the annual Tehachapi Food and Wine Festival offers many unique culinary experiences and a special Discover Tehachapi weekend.
